// Process

Four steps.
No drift.

Every Prowl Works engagement follows the same structure. Scope is locked before work begins. Price does not move. Delivery date is set at proposal — not estimated after the fact.

// The short version
Three things that don't change.
Every engagement runs on these. Scroll down for how each one works in practice.

Scope before start

Work doesn't begin until scope is agreed in writing. What's in, what's out, how revisions work, and what handoff looks like — all defined before a single file is created.

Price does not move

The number in the proposal is the number on the invoice. Scope changes get priced separately and need your written approval before we touch them.

You own it at handoff

Full code delivery. Hosted in your name. No proprietary platform, no monthly dependency, no reason to come back to us unless you want to.

↓   How each step works in practice
01

Conversation

We define what the site needs to do, who it's for, and what success looks like. You don't need a brief, a deck, or a finished idea. You need fifteen minutes and a clear sense of the problem you're trying to solve.

By the end of the conversation, we'll both know whether the engagement makes sense. If it doesn't, we'll tell you that directly.

02

Proposal

Fixed scope. Fixed price. Delivery date confirmed. You receive a written proposal that defines exactly what will be built, what's excluded, how revisions work, and what happens at handoff.

Work does not begin until you approve the proposal. There are no surprises after that point because there's nothing left undefined.

03

Build

Clean static build. Two structured revision rounds included in every engagement. Revisions address what was agreed in the proposal — they're not an opportunity to expand scope after the fact.

If you want something different from what was scoped, we'll price it separately and clearly before touching it. No surprises in either direction.

04

Handoff

Deployed to fast, portable static hosting — in your name, under your control. You own the code, the domain, and the hosting relationship entirely. No platform fee, no dependency on Prowl Works after delivery, no lock-in of any kind.

You receive the full codebase, deployment credentials, and a brief written handoff document. Hosting is included for the first 3 months — $15/month after that. If we ever stop managing your hosting, everything transfers to you completely. No dependency, no lock-in, ever.

// Your part
What we need from you.
We handle the build. You provide the content. Here's what that looks like in practice.

Copy

You provide the words for your site. Not polished prose — just the raw information: what you do, who you serve, what you want visitors to do. We shape it into site-ready copy at no extra charge for straightforward engagements.

Logo and brand

If you have a logo, provide the highest quality file you have. If you don't have one yet, we can proceed with typographic treatment and revisit once your mark exists. We'll tell you what we need at proposal.

One point of contact

Revisions by committee add time and cost. We work best with one person authorized to approve. If you need to involve others, factor that into your timeline expectation before the proposal is signed.

Clear enough to start?

Most engagements begin with one fifteen-minute conversation.
